CPT Matthew J. Ludemann was raised in Ames, IA. He earned his commission as a Second Lieutenant in Air Defense Artillery in May 2010 through the University of Northern Iowa’s ROTC Program.

Upon completion of the Air Defense Artillery Basic Officer Leadership Course at Fort Sill, OK, CPT Ludemann was assigned as the Launcher Platoon Leader in C/1-7 ADA, Fort Bragg, NC. He deployed with the Battery in support of Operation Enduring Freedom as the Executive Officer from April 2012-March 2013. Upon redeployment, CPT Ludemann served as the Assistant Operations Officer for 1-7 ADA. In 2014, CPT Ludemann attended the Air Defense Artillery Captains Career Course at Fort Sill, OK and following graduation was assigned to 4-3 ADA, Fort Sill, OK as the Battalion S-4. He then transitioned to be the Commander B/4-3 ADA from 2015-206 at Fort Sill, OK deployed with the Battery to support of Operation Spartan Shield. Currently CPT Ludemann serves as the Commander C/2-6 ADA.

CPT Ludemann’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (2OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1OLC), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon and the Parachutists Badge.

CPT Ludemann holds a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Northern Iowa and a Masters of Arts from the University of Texas at El Paso. His military education includes U.S. Army Combatives Level I, Air Defense Officer Basic Course, Airborne, U.S. Air Force Load Planners, Multi-TDL Advanced Joint Interoperability (MAJIC) 102, and the Air Defense Captains Career Course.

CPT Ludemann is married to Jessica Perales-Ludemann and together they have a three-year-old daughter, Harper.
