COL Janell E. Eickhoff
Director, Capabilities Development and Integration Directorate
Colonel Janell E. Eickhoff is a native of Plantation, Florida. She graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY in 1991 as an All-American athlete with a Bachelor of Science degree and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Air Defense Artillery.

After commissioning, she graduated from the Air Defense Officer Basic Course at Fort Bliss, TX and was assigned to 4th Battalion (HAWK), 1st Air Defense Artillery (ADA) Regiment in Neubruke, Germany as an Assault Fire Platoon Leader. Toward the end of her tour in Germany, she deployed with 1-7 ADA (PATRIOT) to Bahrain in support of a contingency mission. Upon redeployment from the Gulf, COL Eickhoff graduated from the Officer Advanced Course and was assigned as the Brigade Adjutant for 11th ADA Brigade. In 1997 she took command of D/552 ADA (PATRIOT) and deployed twice more to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait in support of

Operation DESERT FOX. After 28 months of command, she served as the aide-de-camp to the Commanding General of the United States Air Defense Artillery Center and Fort Bliss. In 2000, she was assigned to the Director of Combat Developments before attending the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, KS in 2002. Upon graduation from CGSC and earning a Master’s degree, she returned to Fort Bliss from 2003-2006, serving first as the Battalion Operations Officer of 1-1 ADA (PATRIOT), then as the 31st ADA Brigade Operations Officer and Deputy Commander. COL Eickhoff served as a Division Chief in J8, the Joint Staff, in Washington DC from 2006-2009 prior to assuming command of 1-1 ADA (PATRIOT) in Okinawa, Japan. Upon completion of Battalion command in 2011, she served as a Division Chief on the Army staff, G-3/5/7. In 2013, after graduating from the Army War College she was assigned as the 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command G-3/Deputy Air Defense Commander Forward in the 609th Combined Air Operations Center at Al Udeid, Qatar. COL Eickhoff then served an additional year deployed in the CENTCOM AOR serving in Kuwait as the ARCENT and CJTF-III Air and Missile Defense Chief in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE. Her Most recent assignment was Command, 10th Army Air & Missile Defense Command in Kaiserslautern, Germany from 2015-2017 before becoming the Capabilities Development & Integration Director at the Fires Center of Excellence.

COL Eickhoff’s military decorations and awards include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Joint Staff Badge, the Army Staff Badge, the Basic Space Badge, the Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Germany Proficiency (gold second award) and various other service and campaign awards.
