Major Jiemar A. Patacsi

Major Patacsil was born on 7 March 1977 in Oxnard, California. He enlisted in the Marine Corps and graduated as the Series Honorman from Bravo Company, MCRD San Diego on March 14, 1996. After MCT and Surface Air Defense School he reported to 4th LAAD Battalion on 1 March 1997. During his tour with 4th LAAD he was the Section Head for the Avenger Maintenance Section. He left 4th LAAD as a Sergeant and was Honorably Discharged on 1 May 2001. He graduated from Cal State University, Channel Islands with a BA in sociology and was commissioned on 23 June 2001.

After completing The Basic School in June 2002, Major Patacsil attended the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Upon graduating from Fort Sill, he reported to Battery B, 1st Battalion, 11th Marines as a forward observer from December 2002 to September 2003. He deployed as the forward observer attached to Company C, 1st Battalion, 4th Marines, RCT-1 in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.

In September 200, Major Patacsil was transferred to Battery A, 1st Battalion, 11th Marines and served as Guns Platoon Commander/AXO, Headquarters Platoon Commander/Fire Direction Officer and Executive Officer. During the period from February 2004 to September 2004, he deployed as the Fire Direction Officer for Battery A, RCT-1 at Camp Fallujah, Iraq in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM II-2.

Major Patacsil then reported to Marine Corps Detachment Fort Sill, Oklahoma to serve as the Officer-In-Charge for the Marine Corps Fires Section. From April 2005 to June 2008, Major Patacsil supported the Marine Detachment and Marine Corps Systems Command in the evaluation, development, integration and instruction relative to the various command and control systems.

In 2008, Major Patacsil was selected to attend Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, Virginia. He graduated in May 2009 and received follow on orders to 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines. Major Patacsil assumed command of Battery G, 2nd Battalion, 11th Marines and deployed on the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit attached to Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines. On 17 June 2010 Major Patacsil relinquished command and became the Logistics Officer for 2nd Battalion,

11th Marines and subsequently the Assistant Fire Support Coordinator.

In April 2011, Major Patacsil changed operational control to 5th Marines and became the Regimental Fire Support Coordinator and Counter-IED Coordinator for RCT-5. He deployed with RCT-5 to Helmand Province, Afghanistan from August 2011 to June 2012 in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. While deployed he was selected to attend Marine Corps Command and Staff College in Quantico, Virginia. He graduated with a Masters in Military Studies in June of 2013.

In July 2013, Major Patacsil reported to Expeditionary Warfare Training Group, Pacific where he first assumed duties as the Fire Support Branch Head and subsequently as the Naval Surface Fire Support Branch Head. In June 2016, Major Patacsil reported to 2d Battalion, 11th Marines where he served as the Executive Officer. In June 2017, Major Patacsil reported to Marine Corps Detachment, Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Major Patacsil is currently assigned to Marine Corps Detachment, Fort Sill, Oklahoma as the Executive Officer.

Major Patacsil is married to the former Jennifer Hemphill of Fullerton, CA. Together they have a fourteen year-old daughter, Ailysh, and an eleven year-old son, Deigan..
