CW5 Kenneth Pressley is the fourth Chief Warrant Officer of the Field Artillery. A native of Virginia Beach, VA. He entered the Army in 1989 as a 13R Field Artillery Firefinder Radar Operator, with additional skill identifiers of L3 Ground Surveillance Radar Operator, and X5 Operational Level Radar Maintenance Technician.

CW5 Pressley’s first enlisted assignment was in Fort Drum, NY with 1-7 FA, as a Q-36 Radar Operator, Senior Radar Operator, and Radar Mechanic. His next assignment was in 1993 to Babenhausen, Germany with Alpha Battery, 25th Field Artillery, 41st Field Artillery Brigade, where he served as a Q-36 Senior Radar Operator and as Section Chief. In 1996, he was assigned to Fort Sill, OK as a 13R instructor at I-See-O Hall. In 1998, CW5 Pressley was selected for Warrant Officer Candidate Course. He completed Warrant Officer Basic Course in 1999.

CW5 Pressley’s first assignment as a Warrant Officer brought him back to Fort Drum, NY in 2000 where he was assigned to the 10th Target Acquisition Detachment as a Q-37 Radar Section Leader. While at Fort Drum, he also served in 2-15 Field Artillery Regiment as a Q-36 Radar Section Leader and as 2nd Brigade 10th MTN Division’s Targeting Officer. In 2003, CW5 Pressley’s next assignment was to Germany where he was assigned to Delta Battery, 1-33 Field Artillery as a Q-37 Radar Section Leader. He was later assigned to 2nd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division as the Brigade’s Targeting Officer. In 2008, CW5 Pressley was selected to become an Observer Controller at the Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Polk, LA. While at Fort Polk, he served as F16-Target Acquisition OC and F25-Brigade Targeting OC. In 2010, he was assigned to the 4th Battlefield Coordination Detachment, Shaw Airforce Base, SC where he served as the Targeting Officer in the Combined Air and Space Operations Center, Combat Plans Division. In 2013, he was assigned to the United States Army Pacific Command (USARPAC), Fort Shafter, Hawaii where he served as the Senior Targeting Officer. He also served in the United States Pacific Command (USPACOM), Camp Smith, Hawaii as the Chief of Dynamic Targets in J355. In 2016, CW5 Pressley was assigned to Joint Base Lewis McCord, WA where he served as the Senior Targeting Officer for America’s First Corps. CW5 Pressley’s deployments include: Operation Joint Endeavor, Operation Iraqi Freedom I, III and V, and three deployment to Qatar in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn.

CW5 Pressley’s military education incudes Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course, Joint Targeting Course, Joint Fires and Effects Course, Joint Air Operations C2 Course, Joint Firepower Course, Collateral Damage Estimation Course, Target Mensuration Only Course, Theater Nuclear Operations Course, and the Area NBC Officers Course. CW5 Pressley holds a Masters of Arts in Executive Leadership and has completed the Strategic Leaders Fellowship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (with two oak leaf clusters (OLC)), The Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (with four OLC), Army Commendation Medal (with five OLC), Army Achievement Medal (with four OLC), Humanitarian Service Medal, Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge. He is a recipient of the Ancient Order of Saint Barbara, and is a Senior Army Instructor.

CW5 Pressley is married to the former Amy Miller for 20 years and has three children; Alexander, Zachary, and Jakob.
