Ours is one of the greatest collections of air defense weaponry in the world. We have several one-of-a-kind systems found only in our facility. From the last operational Flak 38/103 Jaboschreck in the world, to the only complete Rheintochter R1, to the last remaining M1918 3” AAA gun, we have an amazing collection.

Collections

Our staff houses and cares for over 3,000 3-dimensional artifacts. Currently, 8% of the collection is on display with over 100 vehicles and weapon systems on exhibit. While these weapons were meant to withstand battle, they are often considerably more delicate than they were 80 or 100 years ago.

Our collection storage vault houses the items not on exhibit. Our facility is the repository for uniforms, equipment, weapons, and other items related to Air Defense and Coast Artillery.

Archival Collection

The ADA TSF houses tens of thousands of documents, photographs, TMs, FMs, DA Pams, and all associated paperwork, visual, and audio files.

We hope to make this collection more accessible through future digitization projects.

Conservation and Restoration

“Everything you have ever seen in your life will turn back into dirt. It’s our job to make that process take as long as possible.”

-Mr. Twilley
Director/Curator ADATSF

Our facility was designed to help care for our artifacts and sets the standard for collection care. The lighting is all LED which helps mitigate ultraviolet light. The air is filtered, scrubbed, and sterilized. The temperature is the optimal 67 degrees Fahrenheit, and the humidity is the optimal 50% humidity.
